Rug Love - Peacock Rug by Matthew Williamson

I love peacocks AND I love rugs. So a post about both love made sense to me...

I am sure you all agree rugs can change the feel of any room. They can also be used to define spaces and bring a burst of colour and style to any room. Using rugs creatively can further enhance the personality of any area.

I fell in love with the Peacock Rug designed by Mathew Williamson. The British designer is known for his uniquely bright and intricately detailed aesthetic. He has designed two delicately patterned rugs called Peacock Dark and Peacock Light for the London-based The Rug Company.

Similarly elegant in design to Mathew's fashion collections, the rugs feature over scaled peacock feathers with vibrant flashes of lime and fuchsia mixed with rich tones of deep blues and charcoal.

Hand knotted in wool and silk, and crafted in the most traditional way by skilled artisans, these pretty designs exemplify what The Rug Company has become known for: Beautiful, Handmade, Original rug designs that are made to last forever...

While outside of the "affordable" range, I think these gorgeous rugs are very high-quality and will last for years and years with proper care.

Which rug would you choose? I can't decide for myself! Both are just perfect!

In Africa with Free People and Jessica Miller

My today post is about Free People and Jessica Miller. The women's lifestyle retailer headed to South Africa for its August Catalog. Love this Catalog!

Free People joined forces with Relate, a not-for-profit social enterprise based in Cape Town, to create one-of-a-kind beaded cause bracelets. The sale of each bracelet contributes one dollar to the United Against Malaria campaign to offer life-saving mosquito nets and treatments to people living in malaria-endemic regions throughout Africa. In further celebration of the South African-themed catalog, Free People has teamed up with Tablet Hotels to send one lucky fan and a guest to experience Johannesburg.

The August catalog features model Jessica Miller photographed by Guy Aroch, as she explores the landscape and celebrates its breathtaking beauty.

The theme is pretty, wild, and utilitarian. Tribal prints and jewelry mimic the exotic setting, and tailored sportswear pieces keep the looks grounded in practicality for an outdoor adventure.

As a lifestyle brand, Free People incorporates experiences beyond apparel for our customer, providing outlets to live freely through travel, good will, and beyond. These special charity bracelets are truly empowering, allowing the makers to earn a sustainable income and develop new skills while contributing to the fight against malaria.

Their Behind the scenes photos are also quite extraordinary: You can find them here on their blog.
